Farewell to a Console

The XBOX died this fall. No problem. I still have a PS2. So, I went and purchased the new major league baseball game, a Spring ritual. I played for about an hour before the PS2 died. What the heck!!! My laptop won't let me play games because of a faulty disc drive. Thanks Dell. So, the good news is that I have less distraction for writing.

Financially hard times here prevent me from going out and buying a new console. But one can't complain, there are so many other things going well. Or at least not going wrong. Sometimes not going wrong is about as good as it gets.

RENEWAL
I just thought I would throw in a reminder here. I've already received about six links for this upcoming assignment. The deadline is Wednesday. I will be posting all the links and whatever my creative self manages. Send any links to satori@arenet.net Probably just as well that my PS2 died.

Sometimes I miss my supernintendo, especially games like Zelda, Doom, and Supermetroid

Oh, don't even get me started on all the distractions that seem to pop out at me whilst I'm trying to write! Aggh, the annoying thing is, you have fun while using your particular distraction of choice, but then you become incredibly frustrated that you became distracted in the first place.

Not that I am trying to distract you Stewart, but as I am unpacking I uncovered my old Sony Playstation.(the original) I haven't used it in years and have thought about tossing it in the trash. However, if you want it, it's yours. I have a small collection of games, however I don't think there is a baseball game. Let me know!

Charles, while most of my friends turned to consoles,I remained a loyal pc gamer. However, XBOX changed that. XBOX was basically a computer...and the new one with a quad core processor is ahead of most gaming units out there. I yearn for one and will probably get one when the money situation lightens.

Helen, videogames are a distraction but hardly a major one. To tell the ...oooh...pretty lights.....

Jimbo, I have an old playstation. I think what frustrated me was shelling out forty dollars for a new game..a baseball game...and then having the damn thing crash within a few hours. I appreciate the offer, but I think I have a lead on a game system from someone who never uses their old PS2...apparently they switched to XBOX.

XBOX -I'm the only person in the world who doesn't own one and has never used one. Thought you should know.

A groan man (yes "groan" and not "grown") crying over a silly game console. I can hear you all the way down I-94.

et tu, JR. Et tu?

That reminds me - I must consider my next electronics purchase soon.

Hmmmm - either a new TV and DVD for the bedroom, or a new console.

But that aside, I'm hoping to finish my submission tomorrow for renewal. I did not write what I expected, which is always a nice surprise.

I'll stick with my PS2. I'm still trying to find time to use it though. Jumpin paddy-whacks! There's never enough time for anything!
As for your assignment, I'm not sure I'll be able to make this one. But I'll try, by golly!

I find it really hard to write when from the next room I hear the siren call of the clone trooper, "Superbattle Droid! Knock 'em down!"

Lee, I have always been a gamer and always will be. The XBOX just represented a new step in gaming, computer gaming from the easy chair.

Travis, here...lemme open this wound a bit so you can rub some salt in it. Ahh...urgghhh...yes...thanks. That felt wonderful. I have scrotum to shore.

Well Lucas if you have no time to use it...

I have no idea what a SUPERBATTLE DROID is..but I wanna play.

Ahem! I meant play with it. Doh! No. I mean use it to play video games on....that sound better? Yeah. I rarely have time to play video games. Although I try.
Okay Stewart, just for that...I will complete your assignment, and then...by golly...I-I'll show you! :-)

Ohhh... consoles. sigh. At our house we currently have the following (all in working order too): Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, GameCube, PS2, XBOX, Sega Genesis, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance (x2), Game Boy Advance SP (x2), Nintendo DS. And soon to be added (read: whenever we get the money together, hopefully before Halo 3 comes out), XBOX 360. We recently had to replace our PS2 also. The new slim ones are amazing, I have books that are bigger! And yet it does all the same things the old one did. The absolutely crazy thing is that we spend so much time playing WoW that all of these things hardly ever get used. Don't ever play WoW, Stewart. I have a love/hate relationship with it that I wouldn't want to share, lol!!

Stewart, Think Star Wars, Battlefront II
