SEDUCTION

Okay, this assignment is due next Thursday, November 16th. The goal is to work on character development and dialogue. Here it is: You will write a seduction scene. We aren't talking graphic stuff here, although that's up to you. I was thinking more about subtlety and tension. Two characters, more if you wish. They come together and the seduction begins. It can take any twist or turn you wish. It can be dark or funny, sexy or not. One thousand word limit.

Besides the members of my writers' group, let me extend special invitations to Susan, Chuck, Jim, SQT, Charles, Sidney.... I will post all links to the completed assignment next Thursday.

Let's see what we can come up with. Above all else, have fun.

How exciting!!! Let me just say it is an honor to be mentioned on your blog as well as among the writers here. This one sounds fun, and I have really needed to get away from the self portrait I've been painting on my own blog. Thank you, Stu.

Who gives you the assignments? I'm having a great time writing my assignments for my class, because it opens me up and gets my writing going in a new direction, but once the class is over I probably will let that go and won't write on such free topics. It's neat though that you have so much writing going on.

Now this assignment sounds intriguing. The fact that I live, breath and eat sexuality only entices me to write a short story or two...

From a younger perspective, I'm sure I can fiddle with the prospect of seduction and the mental capacity that is needed to transfer that quality onto paper or my computer screen...

You keep me inspired Stewart, and I don't find that inspiration in just anyone.

Thanks for the invite! I don't read or write romances so this will be a challenge.

Gulp.

Oh yeah. I think I have a few sketches and ideas that might work.

And Ms SQT...sometimes it's a long way from a seduction to a romance!

I have playing around with a piece from the old days. Reworking it for something new but undefined. I am going to try and meet the deadline.

Fortunately Stewart filled me in on this. I have some ideas, but they are still more seduction in the traditional sense with a twist or two.

I'm working on the old "thinking outside the box" but like I said before, the traditional journalistic background can give one tunnel vision. I definitely have to work on that.

Stewart, I wrote something . . . keep your applause to yourself. I wrote an e-mail seduction - does that count. Come on, I'm a single girl, things can get a little too steamy unless their is distance (even if it is cyber-distance) between me and "him." (I mean "her" and "him." Oops!)
Anyway, I am not sure how to format my piece, as I have never written anything like this before: an e-mail message dialogue. So, I have posted what I wrote . . . just to give you the heads up. Comment all you want - at least you can't wrinkle it up and throw it at me!(Thanks cyber-distance!) LOL
PS Oh, and I did it in 1,000 words or less, just like you said, Stu!

Hum, not having done one of these before, are we supposed to post our "seductions" on our blog and then let you know?

Yeah, it's nothing really...just post too your blog and I'll throw a link up this Thursday to all who participated.

I tell you, I've been doing these assignments (which come mostly from my head, Christine} for years. Mostly they help me get ideas. Sometimes, they aid me in looking at some aspect of writing which I feel weakest in. Also, the assignments are a way to encourage dialogue between people. It gives them something common and non threatening to explore together.

Anyone can play Lori...all I need is for them to email me that the post is on so I can link on Thursday or Friday. The address, as you all know, satori@arenet.net
